Heat safety is important during hot, humid summers when soaring temperatures can lead to dehydration, sunburn, and even death. But keeping cool doesn’t have to be a chore. Here are some fun ways to beat the heat:

  1. Take it easy. Heat-related stress increases with age and activity, so save strenuous activity for the coolest part of the day and don’t push yourself too hard. Seek shade outside or stay inside air-conditioned spaces. Want to get out of the house? Visit your local library or shopping mall!
  2. Wear white. Lightweight and light-colored clothing reflects sunlight and helps maintain a normal body temperature. Check out these tips for wearing white in style. And these!
  3. Stay hydrated in style. We all know to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, but why not sip from a stylish water bottle? Check out these cute eco-friendly options.
