Congratulations to all of this year’s winners of Kansas City Homes & Gardens’ 2010 Remodeling Awards announced recently. The awards showcase the best work of builders, designers, and contractors in our area. The 2010 Remodel of the Year Grand Award went to a California split-level transformed into a European estate. Check out the 2010 Remodel of the Year and more than 20 winning remodeling projects, including must-see before and after shots, for some remodeling inspiration of your own.

Late Summer Events in the Kansas City Area

Before summer is over, there are plenty of opportunities around town to enjoy the best of arts and entertainment in the Kansas City area. Here are just a few of the fun times yet to be had before cold weather and fall routines set in:

  • Missouri State Fair, now through Aug. 22
  • “Beauty and the Beast,” now through Aug. 15
  • Goo Goo Dolls with Switchfoot and Green River Ordinance, Aug. 19
  • 31st annual Ethnic Enrichment Festival, Aug. 20-22

Builders: Register for Parade of Homes and Contest

Builders can still register for the fall Parade of Homes sponsored by the Kansas City Home Builders Association by the late registration deadline July 16. The cost is $1,995. The Parade of Homes will take place Oct. 2-17 this year with free admission into hundreds of homes open daily to the public. Participants can also enter a contest for “Distinctive Plan” and “Pick of the Parade” awards. Early registration is August 20, and the cost is $200. Be a part of this Kansas City tradition!
